I have a whole reflective 2010 post in my head, but I’m too lazy to write it right now!
Just finished submitting my last graduate school application. I decided to go out symbolically by submitting the application for the school that I did my undergraduate work at. And it just so happens that that one was the easiest to submit, it went so quickly I hardly even know what happened! A bit anticlimactic, but…
I’M DONE!!
Note to Kelsey Grammar’s girlfriend:
maybe you should be a bit cautious about rushing into a wedding with a man who just ruthlessly left his wife of many years and his children and has been quoted as saying things about only having a little obligation to his family. It’s disgusting the way he is treating his wife, the mother of his children, and his family. What kind of man does that?...
Day Ten: One confession
I have a serious phobia of dentists.
The first time they tried pulling out my wisdom teeth, it did not go well (hence: tried). They had to throw me in the hospital and do it as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia. But I still went home that first day with half my face numb (I let them get as far as the novacaine before the panic attack really set in) and miserable and forever a sworn...
I take back anything nice I said about this girl wanting to take her life under control. Her heart is not in it. She just said “blah blah blah blah” to cans of vegetables.
This girl doesn’t just need a pediatrician.
She needs a psychologist. This has a lot less to do with food than it does with depression and addiction.
I’m watching True Life on MTV about depression and food addictions. I was kind of judging (although as a aspiring psychologist I should not do that, and I respect her decision to take her life under control and eat healthy and lose weight).
Then I realized I’m sitting on the couch, watching TV and eating ice cream.

I’ve been watching the Next Great Baker on TLC all night. Don’t get me wrong, I’m thoroughly enjoying it, but I’m a little disgusting with how much food they are wasting in these challenges. They just had a speed challenge that included an egg cracking challenge. All 7 of them had to crack over 20 eggs. I’m not normally a huge activist, although a have a big heart,...

THANK YOU The problems in Greek life are not Greek life problems, they are inherent problems occurring in every facet of campus life. Every organization and sports teams has the same things going on, but Greek life gets all the flak. I’m so glad someone in the media has focused on the positive aspects of Greek life instead of always hating on us....
Day Nine: Two smileys that describe your life...

There’s 26” of snow and they are all saying not to go out unless you need to.
And yet my store thinks they are opening at 11? Who’s gonna go shopping today anyway! It’s a SNOW DAY! Anyway, my driveway has not been plowed yet so I’m still stuck here, so I just called to let them know there ain’t no way I’m getting there by 11. Plus, it’s a further...
I’m starting to become convinced that Snowpocalypse follows me (either that, or Clara, in which case, thank you so much for bringing the snow with you back from the Netherlands.) And I think I’m ok with that. I hate winter, but I LOVE snowpocalyptic snow storms. I’m crossing my fingers for a grown-up snow day tomorrow. I haven’t had the chance to play in the snow with my...
So NJ just issued a State of Emergency...
cplucked:
Yes I live and work in NY but I still have to go into work tomorrow. This is totally not fair.
I live in NY but work in NJ. This could work out very well for me!
STOP WITH ALL THE PLOWING. EVEN GROWN UPS NEED SNOW DAYS.
Homemade hot chocolate with Bailey’s?
Yes, please!
Right after the chinese food leftovers and other assorted junk and cookies.
Also, I figured out how to hook up a computer to a TV, so now I can watch Netflix on my TV while consuming all goodies mentioned above.
IT’S SNOWING!!
Day Eight: Three turn ons.
Smelling good (you know, Axe, Old Spice, that stuff…)
Having an imagination, a sense of adventure, be creative!
Little gestures of affection

The thing about Facebook that makes me sad are all the spelling abominations. I know I’m a bit of a spelling and grammar snob, but still, when I see a 20 year old woman (girl?) talk about how excited she is about her awesome Christmas “presant,” I have to wonder if the school system failed her.
And I can’t even get into the 24 year old man-child who can barely speak...
USE THE FORCE, LUKE!
I love when the Star Wars Trilogy is on tv.
You guys…I ate too much popcorn at the movies. Waiting for my tummy to stop hurting before I can start in on the chinese food (which I made my pick up for me yesterday since all the Kosher ones would have been closed today until late!)
Also the movies got interrupted today when the fire alarm went off and they evacuated the whole mall. At first I thought the sirens were part of the...
So I won’t be getting those Georgetown Cupcakes for Christmas this year :-(
Apparently Santa can’t afford the shipping costs, but littles told me there’s a half dozen with my name on it next time I’m in DC. Of course it’ll probably be weeks before I can make it there what with the big sale going on at work.
So folks, there will be no G-town cupcakes this Christmas....

aliparker asked: What traditions do you and your family have for Hanukkah?
Day Seven: Four turn offs.
Making me watch football/sports nonstop.
Flatulence.
Stupidity/ignorance
Rudeness and unkindness. Don’t be mean! To me or to others.

I swear, every professor at this school in my field of interest is unlikely to accept students for the next academic year.
Really?
That’s just NOT FAIR.
Crap!
The professor at the school that is currently my top choice is not likely to accept any students for the next academic year. This lady is pretty much doing what I want to do. Please please please change your mind.
Edit: On second notice, half of these professors are not likely to accept students. That’s just not fair. This lady is like, the reason I am applying to this program.
A lot of the Batman movies have been streaming on Netflix, so I’ve been watching all the different versions lately. The 80s and mid-90s versions are great for the super-cool special effects and the hair and outfits, but I think Dark Knight is still my favorite. Jack Nicholson was great as a funny joker, but Heath just nailed the dark psychological issues of the character.
Either way while...
Merry Shabbosmas to all my Jews!
And a Merry Christmas Eve to all of you who celebrate Christmas!
I just got a new CVS card in the mail for use at the pharmacy- up to 20% off of prescriptions! I thought, wow this is great considering I do take certain medications regularly.
Then I read the fine print. Not valid on prescriptions in New Jersey or New York. Well then why the hell did you send it? I can’t even cross the border into Jersey (I’m equidistant between the CVSes in Jersey...

Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
I don’t really believe in having regrets. Sure, there are some things that I’m not thrilled with how they turned out, but I believe that everything I’ve been through has been a learning experience for me and has led me to where I am and who I am today. But, if I had to pick from those that I wished had turned out differently, here goes:
1. October 6, 2007
2. Gone to that Phi...
